August 2026 Newsletter

Ahh, August.

Someone online coined it “the Sunday of summer” and I think that’s beautiful.

It really does feel that way. We still have plenty of warm days left, but I can feel the days getting a bit shorter. I’m definitely a summer person, but it’s usually around this time of year where the slower pace of fall sounds nice. Anyone else??

July Recap:

  • Worked my tail off on a brand that recently opened its doors–scroll down to see more!

  • Test drove a few wheelchair ramp vehicles so I can get back on the road again!

  • Spent almost every weekend in July at a pool–it was too hot for anything else

  • Hosted a fondue party at our house! 🫕

Wedding Planning as a Disabled Bride
Part 2

Planning a wedding with disability in mind requires lots of intentionality, forethought, and acceptance.

Here are just a few things we did to ensure that our day was catered to fit my needs as a full-time wheelchair user. 👰🏼‍♀️♿️💋💐

Eleven101 Collective

For a good chunk of June and July, I’ve been working hard on all things Eleven101 Collective, the former Painted Tree in Clive.

They had their soft opening last week, and they’re officially open every day now! This project has been SO cool to see come together, and I can’t wait to share more as we continue to build out signage, merch, etc!

Eleven101 Collective is a thoughtfully curated storefront where local makers, artisans, and creative minds come together under one roof. Their space offers a unique collection of handcrafted goods, vintage finds, and one-of-a-kind treasures that celebrate discovery, community, and modern retail experiences.

My Journey to Self-Employment

It’s been a long journey, with lots of lessons and tribulations along the way. Nothing about disability is easy, but I think it has definitely helped fuel my ambition to adapt. 💪🏼🧬🫶🏼
